| 156oz MAHOGANY BOXED SET PLEASE VISIT THIS SET AT LAUREN STANLEY, NEW YORK CITY, Being offered is a fine circa 1856 coin silver coffee and tea set by Bailey & Co. of Philadelphia, each piece with a bulbous center, with applied beading at foot and top rim, pots with flip lids and a flame-like finial, spouts and handles finely cast and engraved, urn with cast flip spout, all on a raised pedestal foot. Each piece of silver fits into its own slot. (The mark shows 2 lions, perhaps suggesting George Sharp's involvement, but there is no written documentation to support the claim.) Total weight a hefty 156 oz. Length of spoon 9 inches. No monogram. Marked as illustrated in photo. The set is in the original mahogany box with chamois (some spotting, etc.) lined interior. The box has side brass handles and a drawer with the same brass handles which drawer could be used for flatware storage. The box sits on a 4-footed stand. Each piece has the following inscription engraved on the underside. Each piece also listed below. There is a hairline crack at top of box (see photo below), but otherwise all in excellent condition. FOUR ENTREE DISHES 352ozs Set of four (4) circa 1849 coin silver entree dishes by Taylor & Lawrie for Bailey & Co. of Philadelphia, each of the four (4) dishes, bottoms and lids, with corresponding numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4, the dish in an escalloped motif, the dish and over with a beaded border, the finely cast handle in a rococo revival motif is removable, so that cover may be used as entree dish also. Total weight a very heavy 352 oz; each dish weighs 88 oz. Dimensions 14 inches long by 9 1/4 inches wide by 4 3/4 inches high. Each entree dish with a 'CB' monogram. Marked as illustrated in photo.
