156oz MAHOGANY BOXED SET

PLEASE VISIT THIS SET AT LAUREN STANLEY, NEW YORK CITY,

Being offered is a fine circa 1856 coin silver coffee and tea set by Bailey & Co. of Philadelphia, each piece with a bulbous center, with applied beading at foot and top rim, pots with flip lids and a flame-like finial, spouts and handles finely cast and engraved, urn with cast flip spout, all on a raised pedestal foot. Each piece of silver fits into its own slot. (The mark shows 2 lions, perhaps suggesting George Sharp's involvement, but there is no written documentation to support the claim.)

Total weight a hefty 156 oz. Length of spoon 9 inches. No monogram. Marked as illustrated in photo. The set is in the original mahogany box with chamois (some spotting, etc.) lined interior. The box has side brass handles and a drawer with the same brass handles which drawer could be used for flatware storage. The box sits on a 4-footed stand. Each piece has the following inscription engraved on the underside. Each piece also listed below. There is a hairline crack at top of box (see photo below), but otherwise all in excellent condition.
