EPERGNE 73oz AESTHITIC 3-D

Fine circa 1850 coin silver epergne by F.W. Cooper of New York, four (4) swirling grape vines form the four (4) arms for candles and feet, with applied leaves, grapes and vines, the base finely pierced, with four (4) removeable bobeches.

Weight 73 oz. Dimensions: diameter at top 18 1/4 inches by 18 1/4 inches high to top of bobeche (21 1/2 inches to top of central crystal bowl). Presentation monogram 'MHL to AML'. Marked as illustrated in photo--F.W. Cooper, 131 Amity St. N.

Though the glass is not original, the cut and etched bowl fits into a circular rim on the epergne as if the bowl were made for the epergne. American epergnes are highly desirable and rare.

This is a very important piece of American silver.
