METAL STERLING COPPER BRASS VASE

Fine circa 1879 Aesthetic style mixed metal sterling silver petite vase or toothpick holder (?) by Dominick & Haff of New York, the body highly engraved with applied elements.

Weight 3 oz. Height of vase 2 1/2 inches. The entire vase has been chased with stylized with a foliate motif, with applied brass and copper decorations of leaves and branches, along with a butterfly and lizard on opposite sides. No monogram. Marked as illustrated in photo below.

DOMINICK & HAFF STERLING SILVER MIXED METALS 3 PIECE SET

Fine 1880 sterling silver and mixed metal set by Dominick & Haff of New York, with covered sugar bowl, creamer and pot. Each piece exhibits masterful allover hand hammering. Pot fits 2 cups liquid.. The teapot has copper cherry branches and blossoms, a butterfly with mixed metals (copper, brass and silver), birds, and a butterfly; copper squirrel, branches with leaves, bird and bamboo in addition to having copper on the mixed metal butterfly. The creamer has brass bamboo leaves, butterfly, branches with leaves; and copper branches with cherry blossoms, beetle, and branches.

Total weight 38 oz. The pot measures 8 1/2 inches accross handle and spout by 5 1/4 inches wide by 4 1/2 inches high.At bottom of each pot there is a monogram that reads 'Geo. White Thorne' (purported a relative of the famous architect, Stanford White).

Marked as illustrated in photo. In excellent condition, including ivory inserts
