HOLLOWWARE by GEORGE GERMER

GERMER STERLING SILVER BOWL ISABEL STEWART GARDNER

Rare circa 1910 sterling silver bowl by George E. Germer of Boston, MASS, in a simple colonial revival style with applied base and everted rim. George Germer is an extraordinary artist and very little of his work comes on the market.

Germer made the communion set for the Isabel Stuart Gardner Museum in Boston and created the ornate gold and silver altar book for the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York.

The bowl is presumed date pre-1912, after which all his work was ecclesiastical. George E. Germer was awarded The Society of Arts and Crafts Masters Medal in 1927. Weight shy of 4 oz. Dimensions 4 5/8 inches wide at tom rim by 2 1/2 inches high. No monogram. Marked Germer, Sterling.

Price: $495.00
