'Europa's Promise' STERLING SILVER MODERN BOWL

THIS IS PERHAPS THE MOST SUPERB PIECE OF SILVER STAN HAS EVER HELD AND SEEN ! PLEASE VISIT AND SEE THE VASE AT LAUREN STANLEY AND VIEW THIS PIECE IN PERSON!

Being offered is a fine circa 2008 bowl by award winning artist/silversmith Robert Oppecker, of Virginia, with an undulating and everted triangular rim, each side with space age surfaces, cutouts, planes, with some surfaces textured, all on a modular and superb raised pedestal base.

The piece is entitled 'Europa's Promise' and it was the winner -- best in show -- at the Charles Taylor Art Center in Virginia this year. The name for the piece is inspired by the planet Jupiter's moon Europa. Beneath the icy surface of Europa it is thought by scientists that a sea of water exists. It is the best hope yet of life beyond our planet. All work submitted to the show had to fit within a six (6) inch cube.
