Circa 1956 sterling silver and black plastic 3 piece coffee set with tray by Reed & Barton of Taunton, MS, in the rare Far East pattern, comprising coffee pot, sugar bowl with cover, creamer and tray with black plastic insert and raised silver rim, all pieces having applied rosettes of chrysanthemum-like flowers. Weight of coffee pot, creamer and covered sugar bowl 36 oz. Dimensions: tray 14 7/8 inches diameter by 1 inch high; coffee pot 11 1/4 inches high by 8 inches over spout and handle; creamer 5 3/4 inches high; sugar bowl 4 3/4 inches high by 5 inches over handles. No monogram. Marked Far East, Reed & Barton, Sterling, X424, and date mark of a 'heart' for year 1956. The water pitcher matching this set appears on page 207 of Jewel Stern's book, 'Modernism in American Silver - 20th Century Design." The set is in the collection of The Dallas Museum of ARt and other museums.
