4 3-D STAGS TUREEN SHREVE STANWOOD 85oz STERLING SILVER A rare circa 1865 sterling silver tureen made available by Shreve, Stanwood & Co., of Boston, MA, the body ovoid in shape, the lid domed, with a ring-form finial with a vegetative-type finial, centered by stag heads on each side of the finial, and with beaded accenting as illustrated in photos, with leaf tip and beaded rims and with massively bold cast stag head handles on each end (the largest stags Seller has ever seen/experience on any piece in this motif), all on a raised pedestal base.
